After a whirlwind two years that included winning Britain’s Got Talent and stepping onto the West End stage, Sydnie Christmas is ready to share what she calls her most personal music yet.
The singer-songwriter has announced her second studio album, The Artist, which will be released on October 2, 2026, through Westway Music. The new record follows her debut album My Way and comes after a landmark period in her career that has seen her rise from Britain’s Got Talent champion in 2024 to starring as Cruella de Vil in the West End production of 101 Dalmatians.
Unlike her debut, The Artist features original material written from her own experiences. Christmas co-wrote 12 of the album’s 13 tracks, creating what she describes as a musical diary that reflects both the triumphs and challenges she has faced in the music and theatre industries.
The announcement also comes ahead of the release of her new single, Spirit, arriving on September 18. The song follows her recent singles Run and Lean On You.
“Writing and releasing my first album feels completely surreal,” Christmas said. “These songs are the most honest I’ve ever been, each one inspired by real moments that have shaped me, the highs, the heartbreaks, the lessons, the people I love and the times I questioned everything.”
She added that making the record felt like opening up her personal journal.
“Creating this record felt like opening my diary and sharing my heart with the world.”
Producer and longtime collaborator Ash Howes praised Christmas’s artistic growth, saying he was impressed from the moment they first worked together.
“I was blown away by Sydnie’s voice and creativity from our very first day in the studio,” Howes said. “It’s been an absolute joy helping bring Sydnie’s musical vision to life and make this very special album.”
Westway Music Managing Director Neil O’Brien also applauded the decision to focus on original songs instead of familiar covers.
“It was a brave move to record a collection of entirely new and original songs,” he said. “Every song has been crafted and developed over the last twelve months. Not only does the album demonstrate Sydnie’s incredible voice, it also showcases her great songwriting skill.”
The album announcement caps off an eventful year for Christmas. She recently joined disco legend Gloria Gaynor for a guest performance at Boogietown Festival and is set to perform solo shows in New York and Philadelphia later this month. She will also appear at The David Foster Foundation’s 40th Anniversary Celebration in Canada before The Artist arrives this fall.
