After being eliminated from the Top 20 on American Idol, Alabama singer Bryant Thomas surprised fans with a major announcement just hours later.

An emotional night on American Idol ended with a heartfelt goodbye from Bryant Thomas but the Alabama singer quickly assured fans that his journey is far from over.

Just hours after being eliminated from the Top 20, the Mobile, Alabama native shared a major update with supporters, promising that new music and live shows are already on the way.

Thomas’ final performance on the show came during the Ohana Round, where he delivered a passionate cover of “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac. Dressed in an American flag muscle shirt and jeans, he stepped onto the stage with his soon-to-be wife, stepdaughter, and father watching from the audience.

Before beginning the song, Thomas opened up about the personal changes happening in his life.

“This song is kind of about change,” he explained. “I just recently moved to South Florida in pursuit of love. I hardly see anyone now, and I kind of lost my family. It’s just one of those seasons of life.”

The performance carried even deeper meaning for the singer, who had proposed to his partner, Alyona Palhof, during his American Idol audition earlier in the season. With his father seated in the crowd, Thomas poured raw emotion into the classic song, delivering it with gritty, gravelly vocals that gave the track a powerful new edge.

By the end of the performance, his father was visibly moved, wiping away tears as Thomas finished the final notes.

Despite the emotional moment, judge Luke Bryan offered constructive feedback about the performance.

“Bryant, before you sing, I know talking to your family and telling them how much you love them is emotional,” Bryan said. “But we still have to remember, I’ve got a song to deliver, and I have to make sure I’m knocking this thing out start to finish.”

He continued by praising Thomas’ voice while suggesting some adjustments.

“You’re one of my favorite voices, but it got a little screamy, a little over raspy. So just curb down some of that gravelly stuff.”

Ultimately, Thomas did not advance to the next round and was eliminated alongside several other contestants, including Chloe Lauren and Sheldon Riley.

Shortly after the episode aired, Thomas posted a heartfelt letter to fans reflecting on his American Idol journey.

“Well… looks like my American Idol run ends here. But man, what a ride,” he wrote.

“This whole experience has been one of the coolest things I’ve ever been a part of. I got to meet some unbelievably talented artists, make friendships I know I’ll have for the rest of my life, and sing on a stage I used to watch from my couch.”

He also thanked the fans who supported him throughout the competition.

Thomas went on to express appreciation for his family and his music team, including Moonshot Music Group, for standing behind him during the experience.

But the biggest message from the singer was about what comes next.

“But don’t worry — this story isn’t over. Not even close,” he wrote. “Ol BT is just getting warmed up.”

According to Thomas, fans can expect new music and more live performances soon.

“More music is coming, more shows are coming, and I promise this ride is just getting started. So stick around. We’re gonna have some fun with this.”

While his American Idol run may have ended earlier than many fans hoped, Thomas’ emotional performances and honest storytelling appear to have helped him build a loyal following — one that’s ready to follow him into the next chapter of his music career.
