‘Epic’ period drama based on true story gets first look with Night Manager icon
“A story of greatness” is coming, brought to life by Outlander and Spider Man icons.
An epic real-life period drama is on its way and it won’t be one to miss for adventure fanatics.
Based on unbelievable true events, Tenzing is an upcoming film about Nepalese-Indian Sherpa climber Tenzing Norgay who was the first to reach the summit of Mount Everest.
He was able to complete this almighty mission with New Zealand mountaineer Edmund Hillary with the film showcasing their part in the unforgettable 1953 British Mount Everest expedition.
While actor Genden Phuntsok stars in the titular role of Tenzing, Edmund Hillary is portrayed by Loki and The Night Manager star Tom Hiddleston.
Meanwhile, Outlander legend Caitriona Balfe is behind expedition secretary Jill Henderson and Spider-Man and American Psycho’s Willem Dafoe as Colonel John Hunt.

A first-look image has been released of Phuntsok and Hiddleston as Tenzing and Hillary as they look out across the dangerous snowy landscape.
There is still some time before the star-studded film is released with its debut set for Friday, October 16, on Apple TV.
The film will also have a limited cinematic release ahead of its premiere on the streamer, coming out on the big screen the week before on Friday, October 9.
“Where Western climbers see ‘Everest’ as something to be conquered, Tenzing reveres ‘Chomolungma’ as the sacred mother goddess”, its official synopsis reads.
