Viewers of The Chase were left raging after the latest episode, with some suggesting the show’s ‘strongest Chaser’ was handed ‘easy questions’ in her finale win.
The ITV quiz show, hosted by Bradley Walsh, pits members of the public against a trivia expert, with the prize fund dependent on how much of a headstart they want on the ‘Chaser’.
During Thursday’s instalment of the hit programme, Jenny Ryan, known on the series as The Vixen, was out to stop Anousha, Hanish, John and Tracy from earning the cash prize.
After seeing off Anousha and Hanish, The Vixen was up against just two opponents in the final chase, but this did not stop the team getting an impressive 17 questions correct to set a tough target.
The Chaser was struggling in her bid to send John and Tracy home empty-handed, but turned it around with a string of quickfire answers as the clock wound down.
However after an incorrect answer, the duo were on the verge of taking home £9,000.
That is, until The Vixen managed to answer a vital penultimate question to crush the guests’ hopes.

After an incorrect answer, 42, Tracy and John had been on the verge of taking home £9,000
Bradley asked her: ‘What term refers to knives, forks and spoons collectively?’
To which, the Chaser correctly answered, ‘cutlery’, putting her on the brink of victory.
She then got the final question right and sent John and Tracy home without a penny to show for their efforts.
In the minutes after the dramatic finale, viewers took to social media to suggest that the kitchen-related question might have been on the easy side.
One infuriated X user said: ‘The strongest chaser who rarely gets beat is asked what’s the collective name for knives, forks and spoons pfft.’
Another added: ‘What term is referred to knives forks and spoons collectively? My god.’
A third posted: ‘Running out of time, so bring out questions as easy as what makes up cutlery,’ alongside an image with the caption: ‘This game is rigged man.’
Another angry user added: ‘Nobody can tell me tonight’s episode is not fixed nice and steady for Jenny Ryan, she starts to wobble a little and Bradley starts to speed up the questions ensuring Jenny get home. Fix fix fix’

One bemused viewer said: ‘As if one of the questions she got was the collective term for spoons, knives and forks.’
The Vixen beat the latest contestants with seven seconds left on the clock, despite an extremely uncertain start to the final chase, to continue her impressive record on the show.
Jenny has the second best win percentage in the programme’s history – as of December 21 – with 78.9 per cent, narrowly behind veteran Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty.
Her requirement on Thursday was higher than her average target of 16 and the payout available was far clear of her average prize fund of £4,457.
When pitted against two guests, Jenny has won 70 of her 76 final chases (92.1 per cent) but looked on the brink of bucking that trend on Thursday.
Law student Anousha, 19, had crashed out in her individual chase despite showing her smarts with six correct answers in the cash builder.
The Chaser said: ‘Particularly Anousha, she would have been very fast in that final and just picked up a couple where you were letting the energy drop a little bit.’
Hanish, 54, meanwhile, missed out on adding £5,000 to the prize fund and was also excluded for the final chase.
