A “fast-paced, intense” drama has been branded one of the “best films of the decade” and it’s ideal for those who loved the overwhelming, frantic crime thriller, Uncut Gems. There’s a wide selection of commercially and critically acclaimed films available across multiple streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, NOW, Paramount Plus and more, but with so much choice on offer, it can be tricky deciding on what to watch.

Some film fans turn to social media for guidance and recommendations and Luke Ecclestone, who posts content online as Eccy Reviews, is a go-to resource for many looking for their next binge-watch.

He’s amassed hundreds of thousands of followers on social media where he shares his opinions and insights on a range of films and television programmes.

In a recent video posted to TikTok, he sung the praises of a Timothée Chalamet-fronted film from 2025.

Speaking directly to the camera, Luke began: “So I’m about to put you onto one of the best films of the decade and if you haven’t seen it, you are massively missing out.”

He then continued: “The film that I am talking about is called Marty Supreme. Now, I absolutely love this film, I [give] it a five star; I think it is a perfect film.

“And Timothée Chalamet’s performance in this film is one of the best performances you will ever see.

“Now, if you love fast-paced action, intense drama, this film is 100% for you.”

What is Marty Supreme about?

Sports comedy-drama Marty Supreme, which has amassed an impressive 93% score on popular review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes, follows Chalamet as the eponymous Marty Mauser, an aspiring table tennis player on a quest to become the world champion.

Directed by Josh Safdie, who co-wrote and directed Uncut Gems, it’s set in the 1950s and charts Marty’s desperate hustle to make his dream come true.

Luke said: “And you might not be a fan of sport, you might not be a fan of ping pong, and I am definitely one of those people.

“But this film is so intense. The performances are fantastic, from Timothée Chalamet to Gwyneth Paltrow, to every single person in this film – and it is also absolutely hilarious.

“Timothée Chalamet in this film is so brilliant. Now, I know a lot of people aren’t a massive fan and I feel like this film will totally change your mind.

“If you wanna go and check this film out, it’s just been added to Prime Video – and that’s exactly why I’m talking about it.

“So, make sure you go ahead and get Marty supreme on your watch list. Get it watched.”
