Prince Archie’s distinctly American accent has caught attention after Meghan Markle shared a new video showing the Sussex family enjoying outdoor life in Britain, while five-year-old Princess Lilibet also offered a glimpse of her love for pink with an adorable manicure and pedicure.
The 34-second montage, posted by the Duchess of Sussex on Instagram on Sunday, features Meghan, Prince Harry, Archie and Lilibet enjoying a series of countryside activities accompanied by Wham!’s Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go.
One of the clearest moments comes during a family fishing trip, when seven-year-old Archie is heard saying, “I got this” in what sounds like a distinctly American accent.

Archie’s American accent stands out

Archie was born in the UK but was less than a year old when Harry and Meghan moved to California six years ago.
In the new footage, he is seen sitting in a rowing boat with his father and younger sister as Harry prepares a fishing rod.
As fish move through the water, Archie confidently says, “I got this.”
Some US outlets, including People magazine, have previously suggested that the young prince can also sound remarkably British, pointing to another clip in which he appeared to cheer, “Go! Go!”
His accent has therefore attracted attention precisely because Archie has spent most of his life in the United States despite being born in Britain.

Lilibet’s pink details steal some attention
The video also gives viewers a brief look at Lilibet’s love of pink.
The five-year-old is filmed warming her bare feet beside a fire, with her toenails appearing to be painted pink.
Later, she rides a pink tasselled bicycle through a park, with a doll sitting in a small chair attached to the back.
Lilibet cycles towards a group of deer while her brother runs ahead in a pink shirt and blue wellington boots.
Harry can be heard calling out, “Archie!” as his son comes into view.
The detail echoes the interest surrounding Lilibet’s cousin, Princess Charlotte, who has also been seen wearing colourful nail polish in public.
Charlotte previously attracted attention for wearing bright pink nail polish while watching Carlos Alcaraz play Jannik Sinner in the Wimbledon final.
She was also photographed wearing icy blue nail polish in a family portrait released to mark William and Catherine’s 15th wedding anniversary in April.
Meghan and Harry enjoy a countryside walk
The latest video presents a relaxed picture of the family’s life after returning to Britain.
One of the children’s wellington boots is seen splashing through a muddy puddle, while Harry and Meghan walk hand in hand along a country lane.
Meghan turns towards the camera, apparently being operated by one of the children, and calls: “Come on, you – come on!”
The family’s Labrador, Pula, also features prominently, running along a wooded path surrounded by ferns and trees.
In another scene, Harry, Archie and Lilibet are seen in a rowing boat while Pula watches from the bank.
The video is accompanied throughout by a Union flag and red heart emoji rather than a written caption.
Meghan’s countryside look
Meghan was dressed for the outdoor excursion in a pair of Le Chameau ‘Jameson’ boots, a brand also associated with the Princess of Wales.
She paired the boots with a brown Cyana Convertible Puffer Jacket, which is listed at $398.
The family recently moved to a new home in the Cotswolds while retaining their mansion in Montecito, California. They also own a holiday home in Portugal.
The Sussexes have said they are “happy to be back” in Britain, and Archie and Lilibet have already started school.
Their return, however, has unfolded alongside continuing tensions involving the Royal Family.
Return to Britain comes amid royal tensions
Harry and Meghan’s move back to the UK has coincided with renewed controversy surrounding Prince Harry’s Invictus Games.
The sporting event was founded by Harry for wounded military veterans, but Uganda recently withdrew from the upcoming Games.
People close to the Sussexes have claimed that Uganda’s decision was directly connected to a letter from King Charles making clear that Harry and Meghan are private citizens rather than working royals.
The letter was sent to senior government officials, military leaders, Lord Lieutenants and the Sussexes’ team.
It made clear that although Harry, Meghan and their children had returned to Britain, they had not returned to the working Royal Family.
Uganda’s chief of defence, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, appeared to distance his country from Harry’s project after the letter emerged.
In a post on X, he said Uganda was withdrawing from the Invictus Games so that it would not be interpreted as opposing King Charles III, whom he said the country deeply revered.
Sussexes reportedly surprised by King’s letter
Harry and Meghan were reportedly surprised to receive the letter amid speculation that their return to Britain might involve some form of “half in, half out” arrangement.
The communication appeared to end any prospect of such an arrangement.
Sources close to the couple told People magazine that the Ugandan competitors who had been due to participate were the people ultimately affected by the decision.
The dispute is another chapter in the strained relationship between the Sussexes and the Royal Family, which has continued since Harry and Meghan left Britain six years ago.
The couple moved to the United States seeking personal and financial freedom before returning to Britain just over a fortnight ago.
Their return has also revived the long-running disagreement over Harry’s security arrangements, after it was decided that the couple would no longer automatically receive taxpayer-funded police protection because they were no longer working royals.
For now, however, Meghan’s latest social media post focuses on a much more domestic side of the family’s return: muddy puddles, woodland walks, fishing trips, pink nail polish and two young children exploring the British countryside.
