Spoilers for House of the Dragon Season 3 reveal that Criston Cole will finally die. The episode will also show us the consequences of Alicent’s failed escape plan and Daemon getting closer to avenging the gold cloaks, among other plotlines.

House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 6 spoilers reveal how Criston Cole dies
It is an understatement to say that fans of House of the Dragon Season 3 want Criston Cole dead. The character first had the audacity to think Rhaenyra would give up the throne to elope with him after one night of intimacy and then turned completely against her. Moreover, in episode 5, he even went on to say how he was the
“realm’s greatest warrior”
and would die as such, which made him an even more insufferable character to the fans.
According to leaks circulating online, Criston Cole will finally die in House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 6. In Fire & Blood, Cole gets ambushed by the Winter Wolves and the Rivermen, who kill most of his men. Despite requesting a duel, Cole is shot by arrows and killed. He will apparently face the same death in the show.

As the leaks suggest, in the next episode, Criston Cole will march towards the Riverlands with his men and get ambushed. While Cole and his men will be able to fight off the Rivermen for some time, the Tully army will close in on them. Realizing they can’t win, Cole will demand a duel, but one of the Blacks’ allies will shoot him dead.
What else can we expect from House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 6?

House of the Dragon Season 3 episode 5 ended with Alicent and Helaena thinking they found a secret passage out of the Red Keep but meeting a dead end when they tried to escape through the passage. Leaks about the upcoming episode suggest that Alicent and Helaena will get caught trying to escape, and this time, Rhaenyra won’t be so kind.
Rhaenyra will put more restrictions on Alicent and Helaena’s movement, which will begin to take its toll on Helaena. In Fire & Blood, Helaena died by jumping off from a Red Keep window, impaling herself on the sharp iron spikes guarding the base of the castle. Season 3 has already hinted at this in the last episode when Helaena repeatedly wanted to be by the window to watch the moon.

While we might not see her die soon, Helaena’s mental health will worsen. She has lost a child and a husband and is now imprisoned, all because of the ambitions of others. There is also the fear of her unborn child dying the moment he/she is born. The spoilers suggest that in the next episode, Helaena will prick her finger on the sewing needle multiple times as she loses focus. Alicent will warn Rhaenyra how the strict measures might be driving Helaena towards her death.
Something interesting that the leaks have revealed is that we’re going to see how much Daeron hates being under Ormund’s controlling. Gwayne will reach Tumbleton, and Daeron will share how much he hates the person he becomes around Ormund and ask Gwayne to not leave him alone with him again.
Gwayne isn’t a fan of Ormund either and, in fact, hates him. Ormund had implied Gwayne was gay in an attempt to insult him, which evidently hasn’t gone well for the cousins. On the other hand, Ormund’s sensitivity to smells is expected to be explored in greater detail in the upcoming episode.
Since he hasn’t actively fought in the field in quite some time, Ormund isn’t prepared when violence and war break out in Tumbleton and vomits. As the leaks have revealed, Rhaenyra is going to send assasins disguised as Baratheons to kill Ormund. Due to his inexperience and physical weakness, Ormund won’t be able to identify them correctly.
However, Gwayne, who has recently been in the field, will identify them and prevent them from assassinating Ormund. As the preview trailer for the upcoming episode has revealed, Daemon will be disguising himself as a gold cloak to find out who has been killing them. Spoilers suggest that he will catch and kill one of the Green spies behind the death of the gold cloaks.Alys Rivers will also gain more control over Aemond in the upcoming House of the Dragon Season 3 episode. While Aemond will try to leave Harrenhal, a stable boy will see him. Since there’s a risk of the boy telling the Blacks of Aemond’s whereabouts, Alys will kill him. Her saving his life will soften Aemond’s resistance to staying back.
Moreover, to make it more difficult for him to leave, Alys gives him hope of a future where they have children together. She also reveals that she has ancient dragon eggs, giving him hope that his legacy can live on if they have children and they ride the dragons yet to hatch from the eggs. All this eventually makes Aemond stay back with her.
On the other hand, Corlys Velaryon is far from resuming his duties as the Hand. Spoilers about the upcoming episode of House of the Dragon Season 3 suggest that he will get attacked by Jon Roxton, who will strangle him to the point of unconsciousness. It is yet to be known what might happen to Corlys next.
House of the Dragon Season 3 episode 6 will be released on HBO and HBO Max on July 26, 2026, at 9 pm ET.
