The ACM Awards are underway, and the Red Clay Strays just secured their second ACM Award win, and it’s beyond well-deserved… the hot streak for the Alabama boys continues.

If you’ve been paying attention to them, you know they were bound to become a mainstay after winning Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2024 Americana Awards, winning New Vocal Duo or Group at the 2025 ACM Awards and scoring a 3x platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for their breakout hit, “Wondering Why,” along with a gold certification for their debut album, Moment of Truth.

As previously mentioned, however, their big mainstream break happened back in November thanks to their huge night at the 59th annual CMA Awards, delivering a killer performance of their current single, “People Hatin’” and, more importantly, dethroning Old Dominion as Vocal Group of the Year en route to their first-ever CMA win.

The Mobile, Alabama band was nominated in the Group of the Year category, which honestly was a pretty stacked one. Of course, they were facing Old Dominion again, which had won the award for the last 8 years. Similar to the CMA Awards, fans were ready to see someone else take home this honor. But this category was interesting, with Flatland Cavalry AND 49 Winchester also receiving nods.

While any of these groups would be deserving, the Red Clay Strays continue their run, taking home Group of the Year.

They are riding the high big time, winning this award right off the heels of announcing their third studio record, Grateful.

Not bad for “some rednecks from Alabama,” as frontman Brandon Coleman called themselves during the acceptance speech. It didn’t take long for the internet to rejoice in Old Dominion’s downfall and the Red Clay Strays’ receiving another mainstream honor.

Well done, boys. Well deserved.
