SNL UK Roasts Harry and Meghan’s Return to Britain With Savage ‘Daddy, I’m Home’ Sketch

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to the UK became the target of a biting Saturday Night Live UK sketch, with the comedy show imagining the Sussexes arriving at Balmoral — and immediately being questioned about whether they had already burned through their Netflix fortune.

The Season 2 premiere opened with comedians Jack Shep and Ayoade Bamgboye portraying Harry and Meghan as they reunited with fictional versions of King Charles III, played by Larry Dean, and Queen Camilla, played by Emma Sidi.

“Daddy,” Harry tells Charles as he arrives. “I’m home.”

Charles’ response quickly sets the tone.

“Don’t tell me you’ve spent all your Netflix money already,” the fictional King says.

“It was $60 million,” Harry fires back. “How long was it meant to last?”

Meghan’s lifestyle brand becomes part of the joke

The sketch did not stop with Harry.

After Camilla welcomed the couple, Meghan’s character presented her with a deliberately simple homemade gift.

“Hey Step Queen. I brought you a gift. It’s ice. I made it myself. I can give you the recipe. I’m kind of a wiz in the kitchen,” she jokes.

The line appeared to poke fun at Meghan’s move into the lifestyle space and her Netflix series With Love, Meghan.

Harry then added another punchline: “It’s true. She hires the best cooks.”

The parody also included a provocative remark from the fictional Camilla about Meghan’s skin color, seemingly referencing Harry and Meghan’s claims in their Oprah Winfrey interview about conversations concerning how dark their son Archie’s skin might be.

Sussex finances become a central punchline

Much of the sketch revolved around Harry and Meghan’s post-royal finances — a particularly pointed subject following changes to their relationship with Netflix.

After stepping away from their roles as working royals in 2020, the couple signed a lucrative five-year deal with the streaming company and produced projects including the Harry & Meghan documentary series and With Love, Meghan.

That five-year agreement ended in September 2025 and was not renewed in its original form.

However, Harry and Meghan’s Archewell Productions subsequently secured a new multi-year, first-look arrangement with Netflix, giving the streaming company the first opportunity to consider projects proposed by their production company.

Against that backdrop, SNL UK’s joke about the couple supposedly returning because they had spent their Netflix money landed directly on one of the biggest areas of speculation surrounding their move.

Reports about their return have offered different explanations. While one source suggested money could be a significant factor, other sources said the move was driven by Harry’s desire to be closer to his father and to strengthen Archie and Lilibet’s relationships with their British relatives.

The couple are also expected to enroll Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, in school in Britain.

Andy Burnham crashes the royal reunion

The fictional Balmoral meeting became even more chaotic when Prime Minister Andy Burnham, portrayed by George Fouracres, entered the scene.

“Harry, Meghan, I’m here to tell you that just because you’re normal folk doesn’t mean your life has to be crap,” he declares. “That is the Burnham promise.”

The joke played on the Sussexes’ unusual position after stepping away from working royal duties while remaining among the most famous members of the extended Royal Family.

The Season 2 premiere was hosted by Jurassic Park star Jeff Goldblum, with CMAT appearing as musical guest.

No immediate response from Harry and Meghan

Harry and Meghan did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the sketch.

Their return to Britain has generated intense attention after six years based primarily in California. The couple famously stepped away from working royal life in 2020 before establishing a new home and media career in the United States.

Now, with the Sussex family beginning another chapter in Britain, SNL UK has wasted little time turning that homecoming into comedy.

And from Harry’s opening “Daddy, I’m home” to Charles’ savage Netflix-money response, the show made clear that almost every part of the Sussexes’ return was fair game.
