THE CHASE host Bradley Walsh collapsed on tonight’s show during a rant at Anne Hegerty after she failed to answer the question: “What is a sausage?”
I’m A Celeb star Anne, 60, famous for her vast knowledge of practically everything, repeatedly couldn’t explain to him exactly what a banger was.
It was a simple question about meat substitutes which started the trouble.
Both Anne and the contestant correctly answered that it was France which banned the word ‘sausage’ for a vegetarian product.
However, she came unstuck when Bradley asked: “Sausage means what?”
Anne replied: “A sausage is a tube of skin with mince meat in the middle.”
“I know what it is,” he snapped impatiently. “Where does the word come from. Saucisson?”
Anne replied: “Possibly. I really don’t know.”
On the brink of a meltdown Bradley roared: “What is the point of you being a Chaser if you don’t know this stuff?”
Slapping the console, he continued: “This is the stuff you’re supposed to know, never mind how many billions of stars or whether the world’s circumference is the same as your neck.”
Wheeling around, he said: “What we need to know is – what is a sausage?”
She replied: “I don’t know. I’ll have to go and look it up.”

Many fans were in disbelief over the 58-year-old host‘s unusual passion for the subject, with one tweeting: “Bradley loves sausage.”
