đŸ”„ “WAIT… IS THAT REALLY MICHAEL JACKSON?” đŸ˜± A behind-the-scenes rehearsal clip from one of the year’s most anticipated music films has exploded online, leaving fans doing a double take. From the signature moves to the unmistakable stage presence, countless viewers say they had to watch it more than once before realizing what they were actually seeing.

Jermaine Jackson’s 29-year-old son Jaafar is becoming the new face of the Jackson family after landing his debut film role in the blockbuster biopic, “Michael” – the record-breaking Lionsgate flick following the life of Jaafar’s legendary uncle, Michael Jackson.

Reaching cinemas in April 2026, “Michael” has already been named the world’s first biographical film to break $1 billion at the box office, catapulting Jaafar to instant fame as he keeps his uncle’s legacy alive for a brand new generation.

But recently, one of Jaafar’s behind-the-scenes rehearsal clips made its way onto YouTube and fans simply can’t believe what they’re seeing. Amassing more than 380,000 views across its various uploads, Music Man readers can watch Jaafar’s viral rehearsal in the video below

Jaafar completely embodies his uncle, from his outfit to his stage presence, his smile to his cut-throat choreography as he rehearses the “Bad” routine in an unedited, one-take performance. Moonwalking through the instrumental breaks, kicking, hair flipping and striking MJ’s iconic stage poses, this re-enactment is the ultimate tribute to the King of Pop, made even more heartwarming by Jaafar’s family connection.

Seventeen years after Michael Jackson’s passing, the hitmaker’s immortal status is still kept intact as Jaafar recreates exactly what made Michael such a force to be reckoned with on stage. One top commenter beneath this viral clip even shared, “Simply remarkable to be honest. His hair flicks, leg flicks, half removing of the jacket, dance moves, hand gestures, the way he walks across in sync with the music
Honestly and seriously, MJ would be proud. You smashed it Jaafar!”

The 29-year-old actor first entered the spotlight starring in his family’s 2015 reality show, “Living With The Jacksons.” Three years later, Jaafar dropped his debut single, “Got Me Singing,” and produced a debut studio album which has yet to see the light of day. He also starred in “The Jacksons: Next Generation” and made a cameo in Tito Jackson’s music video, “Love One Another.”

Jaafar’s lead role in “Michael” marked an astronomical leap in his career and, despite it being his debut acting performance, MJ fans can’t get enough of the rising star. After one fan commented, “The movie was really good, you did really great to act like your uncle! Michael Jackson must be proud,” another fan added, “The Bad performance sealed the deal, kept me returning to the movie theater. You killed it! It is so, so good!”
